Brassavola Nodosa

Brassavola Nodosa
Hey there orchid lovers! Here you can see my friend's Brassavola Nodosa!

This small to medium sized epiphytic and sometimes litophytic species comes from central america where it grows close to sea shore and up to about 500m.

It is quite salt tolerant and therefore quite hardy. Mounted or potted, it does best when exposed to morning and afternoon soon with some shade through the middle of the day. Water should be provided gently during summer time.

I use a mix of vulcanic stones and gravle with some peat on which the plant seems to thrive. Flowering now, in a short stem with two to a few whitish, greenish flowers, very scented at night.
